Electronic cigarettes came to the market in an attempt to replace hazardous tobacco use. Smoking tobacco cigarettes has been proven to be very harmful to both the smoker and everyone who is exposed to the second-hand smoke, not too mention that it is also costly and since the smoking bans sweeping the country it has also become isolating; the electronic cigarette offers a completely new way of life for standard tobacco users. Although, Electronic cigarettes are a non-intrusive and completely smokeless there has been a lot of resistance to their acceptance as a safe alternative to smoking led mainly by lobbying from the corporations who stand to lose a lot from they’re success.  This negative press has a lot of people confused with some even asking: Are Electronic Cigarettes Legal?

An electronic cigarette consists of a battery (the ‘cigarette’) and a cartomizers (the ‘filter’). The cartomizer, depending on the brand, contains the nicotine (if desired), distilled water, propylene glycol and flavoring. Propylene glycol has widely been accepted to be safe for human consumption, it is found in many food colorings and some health foods).  Broken down, this means that the user is inhaling vapors that consist of about 99% water. This vapor breaks down into the air within seconds of it being released or exhaled from the user.  This means that it smokers no longer need to huddle outside in the cold with everyone else while getting that ever-needed nicotine fix.

The process of using the electronic cigarette is as follows. The user inhales (or draws) on the cigarette and that action provokes a few simultaneous reactions. First, the draw is sensed by a microchip which starts the nicotine solution in the cartridge to become heated.  The solution is heated by the atomizer, or in some cases, or the cartomizers (the atomizer/cartridge combo) until it becomes a vapor. That flavored vapor is inhaled by the user. This entire process happens the moment that the user inhales on the e-cigarette, which is exactly how it feels when smoking standard tobacco cigarettes.

Electronic cigarettes have become so popular because they deliver the needed nicotine fix without causing all that unnecessary harm. Developers in the field has done considerable research since the smokeless product hit the market several years ago and all signs point to safe. Some research has been intensive enough to establish that most brands of electronic cigarettes do not contain any carcinogenic substances. Not to mention that, although the e-cigs are electric, most of them don’t feel electric. They feel, smoke, and taste like genuine tobacco products without the mess and price.

Are Electronic Cigarettes Legal?

So are Electronic Cigarettes Legal? The answer is YES!  Electronic Cigarettes are perfectly legal and available for purchase. Although it is not FDA-approved as a smoking cessation program, it has helped thousands of individuals stop smoking. One brand documented that over 75% of their current users has remained smoke-free since using their product. Users are able to become smoke-free because most electronic cigarette manufacturers offer a ‘no nicotine’ cigarette. The reason it’s not FDA-approved is because it would take many years and millions of dollars to do so.   This is something the industry is working towards but in the meantime you only need to reads the thousands of positive electronic cigarette reviews online to see for yourself how e-cigs are positively impacting peoples lives.   Our opinion at Best Electronic Cigarette Review is that although not legally a smoking cessation tool, electronic cigarettes have to the cleanest tobacco replacement product that ever existed. Eventually, so many people will catch on to this great innovation that federal regulators will step in and both regulations and steep taxes will drive the prices up.   Until then, buy them cheap and smoke them everywhere.
