Electronic Cigarettes have become very popular in recent years at the expense of many companies and individuals, this has led to many naysayers asking Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?

Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?

It has long been known that tobacco cigarettes are extremely dangerous to the users’ health.  With the hundreds of toxic chemicals in cigarettes, it is no wonder that there are so many different illnesses that specifically come from smoking tobacco so to find an alternative to smoking could be worth millions and save thousands of lives.

Not only is smoking a huge health risk to the smoker, it is also hazardous to everyone around them through second-hand smoke; it is also expensive, addictive, causes oral health problems, and it has been banned from practically everywhere in society.

The Future For Smokers is Here

For the past several years, there has been a breakthrough in the technology of electronic cigarettes. The goal is to get nicotine to the user in a safe and non-disruptive way.  E-Cigs solve the problem of giving smokers the nicotine they need combined with the pleasure and sensation of smoking a real cigarette.

When thinking about are Electronic Cigarettes Safe I would first like you to stop for a minute and think about what is actually in a real cigarette.  It has been widely acknowledged that there are something like 4000 chemicals in a tobacco cigarette with 40 of them being carcinogenic which means that they cause Cancer.  Not to mention CO2 and tar added into the mix.  Now if you ask me:  Are electronic cigarettes safe?  The honest answer is that they have not been around long enough for scientists to make a 100% categorical claim that yes! Electronic cigarettes are safe!  However, let’s look at the facts more closely…

Whats In a tobacco Cigarette…

The vast majority of electronic cigarettes contain 2 components, a battery and a cartridge. The ingredients in the cartridge are distilled water, propylene glycol (or a similar non-toxic, organic solution), nicotine (if desired), and flavoring. Nicotine by itself is not harmful, this has been proven however some people have tried to damage the electronic cigarette industry by saying that propylene glycol is harmful.  However, this is an ingredient used in hundreds of household and day-to-day food products such as health foods and food coloring.  These individuals that are saying electronic cigarettes are not safe have their own agenda and we must consider this when asking the question: Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?

Electronic Cigarettes manufacturers are now investing millions of dollars to prove that their products are in fact totally safe.  Some have already successfully shown that their products have been tested and confirmed that they do not contain any kind of carcinogens, i.e. they do not cause Cancer.  Why because basically, users are inhaling flavored vapors.  You are vaping not smoking.  There is a massive difference.
It purely comes down to time.  Electronic cigarettes are a new innovation.  The government will by its definition be suspicious of a new product that is an unknown quantity.  However, you just need to read the reviews of people who use electronic cigarettes to understand that there is no doubt in their mind.  This is a much safer alternative to smoking.  I myself feel fitter and my smoker’s cough has disappeared.  No more smelly breath, stinky clothes and my sense of smell and taste has returned.

Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?

So if you ask me again:  Are electronic cigarettes safe? For me it’s a NO BRAINER.  I’ll take the Ecig everytime.  Surely this new device which has already had some testing done on it is worth taking a punt on because we already have 60 years of research that tells us that tobacco smoking is killing us!  NO THANKS.  I’ll take the water vapor with the food colouring ingredient please.  You can keep your tobacco cigarette with its CO2, its tar and its 4000 chemicals.
